the idea to start a Filipino inspired hot sauce hit me like a raging kalabaw rampaging through a rice field. shortly after getting engaged to My now wife, we visited family in Manila. as all good vacations go we were busy touring the area. While sitting down on the outskirts of Metro Manila for that morning's almusal, in one of many wholesome roadside restaurants, I noticed that for every meal there was vinegar, cracked black peppercorn and chili peppers served on the side. for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from the casual roadside stall to the fancy hotel restaurant, vinegar, chilis and black peppercorn served along side your meal. That’s when it hit me like a runaway jeepney, this is a hot sauce. When we got back to the states I immediately started formulating recipes.

After several attempts and some very hot taste buds later Tatay’s Sarap mango Habanero hot sauce was born. This sauce gives you the sweet, savory and spicy flavors of the Philippines and puts it on your kitchen table. Made with real Filipino ingredients, it’s sure to make you go “ay naku! paano syia sobrang masarap? Gaano na lang ang natitira?”
